Spray Painted crib

In major nesting mode with #4, I started looking for inspiration for my baby boy nursery. I wasn't sure exactly what I wanted to do, but I did know this- My crib was in need of some serious help. My husband and I picked this out as soon as we found out I was pregnant with #1. That was over 6 years, and 3 kids ago! Because our kids are so close together, it has been in constant use since we brought our oldest son home from the hospital. That equals one pretty sad looking crib. Not to mention, that my decorating style has changed significantly in the past 6 years. I wasn't diggin' the cherry wood finish anymore.

But, a brand new crib just wasn't in the budget, so I had to give our old one a makeover. It was a lot of fun, took only one day and about $30. (notice the girly bedding in a blue room. Yes, I hated having my little girl sleep in a not girly room, even though I knew it was only temporary!)

Bedroom Mini-Makeover under $100 all in 1 weekend!

A while back, I was visiting my family for my brothers wedding. Since I was making the trip anyway, I decided to stay for 3 whole weeks and get my moneys worth! Pregnancy hormones fully kicked in by now, I immediately saw something that needed my nesting energy! Behold my little sisters room-

Lots of potential, but too much stuff and mismatched!

Maybe I can get her to actually use the hooks she has for towels and swimsuits!

The Power of Paint- part 1- a lamp redo!

With the birth of baby #4, I figure it's going to be a little while until my next project is complete. So I'm going back in time and blogging about some of the projects I DID complete while in major nesting mode over the past few months.
Let it be known that I LOVE, with all my heart, painting stuff.
Painting is perhaps the easiest, cheapest way to make the most difference, in the shortest amount of time. Heres a quick example.

Take a look at this gorgeous lamp from Target. Then take a look at the price underneath. Thats not including the $15 shade. A little steep for a lamp that I don't really even need.

But it would go so great in my piano room! Before I made the splurge, I decided to see if I could come up with my own solution. So to the thrift store I went.

More baby pictures!

I know I just barely posted a bunch of baby pictures, but I got these today and had to put them up right away!
(by the way, the photographer was Tamera Young again. Same talented chica that took my family pics and the pirate party pics.) OK folks, she took these YESTERDAY!!!! She edited them last night and brought the CD over to me today. Can you believe it? I was beyond thrilled. Enough dilly-dally, look at these!!!

I'll just let the pictures speak for themselves!

He's finally here!

Introducing baby #4!

born July 12, 2012 @ 8:22 a.m.
8 pounds 6 ounces and 20 inches long
While the surgery was significantly longer than the 3 previous, it went without a hitch. The doc said everything was in perfect condition, and gave us the thumbs up to have more! (don't know if we will, it's just nice to have the option!)

The first thing the nurses said, was "His hands are huge!"

Much to his older brothers delight, my 2 boys look very similar.

All 3 of his siblings adore him already and are all very attentive.

Grand-baby #4!!!

This uncle was so excited to finally be there for the birth of a niece or nephew. (well, not in the room, but there within a few hours)

Big hands, and big feet too!

I am so much more comfortable at home, and especially with all the help here right now, I was itching to get out of the hospital. Most of the staff thought I was crazy when I left less than 36 hours later.

Just look at those lips!! So kissable!

Baby born in Nashville has to have a guitar outfit right?

We love this guy so much already, and are so grateful for his safe and healthy arrival!

My thoughts on getting even BIGGER!

I only have 1 week to go! I had another appt. the other day and my doc says she really feels like he's going to be a big boy. I certainly feel like he's a monster baby, but we'll see soon enough! (July 12 is the day! I always have to have c-sections, so the delivery is scheduled at 39 weeks) So that being said, it probably goes without saying that my belly is getting pretty darn big as well. Thats fine. I can handle a big belly. I just want to avoid a huge butt, thighs, arms, and everywhere else.
Here's a little update on how I'm doing in my efforts of trying to control just how large all the rest of me gets.
